The Dublin Singers were honored to participate in the President’s Cup Plaza dedication ceremony in Old Dublin on Thursday, September 12. We sang the National Anthem. If you watch the video on the plaza dedication page, we appear at the 1:37 mark, but only for two seconds, so watch carefully!
Thanks to Thomas Matthews (Jennifer’s 8-year-old son) for these pictures:

Nick Swanson, a senior at Dublin Coffman High School, received the first Dublin Singers music scholarship. Tom Cassidy, President of The Dublin Singers, presented the award to Nick at the Spring show.
We wish Nick all the best in his college and professional career.
The Dublin Singers were one of about 110 units in the 2013 Dublin, Ohio St. Patrick’s Day parade. Sixteen Singers participated, and we had a really good time. Special thanks to Adit Granite for organizing, Jim Gatto for providing the truck and sound system, Michelle Hecht for providing the candy, and Tom Cassidy, Jennifer Matthews, Debbie Lowers, Martha Rockwell and Marianne Hugg for the photos.
Singing, dancing, eating. And some laughing. Choreography Day on March 3, 2013 was a great way to spend a Saturday morning and part of the afternoon. We made a lot of progress, but the moves aren’t ready for prime time yet. Come to the Spring Show and see the finished product.
On Saturday, October 20, 2012 The Dublin Singers held our annual Choral Workshop in Enke Hall at St. Brigid of Kildare Church. We were fortunate enough to be joined by celebrated professor, conductor, musician and our dear friend, Mr. Robert Owen Jones.
Mr. Jones is the recently retired head of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Muskingum University. On March 31, 2012 he was presented the All-Ohio Youth Choir Distinguished Service Award in recognition of “distinguished, outstanding, and devoted service to the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir.”
He and his wife are both professional singers who left their active careers in New York City to move to New Concord, Ohio, to raise their children. A graduate of Muskingum College, he earned the Master of Science degree from the Julliard School of Music, and while there, was leading tenor of its opera department. He has appeared in the opera companies of Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, and Miami, and has been a featured soloist with the New York Philharmonic and Boston Symphony Orchestras.
The workshop was tremendously enjoyable, enriching, and entertaining! The Dublin Singers were delighted and honored Professor Jones joined us to share his considerable talents, knowledge and wealth of experience.
